Wyoming’s Rep. Mike Schmid has proposed House Bill 0286 – Mountain Lion Hunting Season Changes to the Wyoming to the Wyoming Legislature that would bring all-out war on cougars! The bill would allow unlimited killing of cougars across the state. There would be no limits—killing 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Mountain lions could be killed anytime, day or night. Oil and gas businessman, board member of the Wyoming State Trappers Association, and supporter of the Freedom Caucus, Mike Schmid, sponsored the bill and has the support of many legislators. Science shows there is zero rationale to kill cougars, other than imminent danger to humans or property! Another similar bill is being introduced with most of the same gang of legislators to kill grizzly bears, even while they remain on the Endangered Species List. Hunters holding an elk license would have the right to kill any grizzly bear outside the small recovery zone.
