The BLM is preparing to implement massive plans to eradicate over 3400 wild horses from more than 1.4 million acres of public lands in southern Wyoming and another 2,100 from the last remaining portion of the Adobe Town Herd Management Area (HMA). These wild horses will be forcibly removed from their home ranges, separated from their families, and face an uncertain future of holding facilities and/or adoption pipelines.
This plan would completely eliminate wild horses from Salt Wells Creek, Great Divide Basin, and parts of Adobe Town—sacrificing our nation’s wild heritage to benefit the Rock Springs Grazing Association, whose private livestock operations profit from these public lands.
This is a betrayal of the public trust. Our government is prioritizing private commercial interests over the will of the American people and the protections the law affords to wild horses under the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act.

Now more than ever, we must keep fighting. Even when the odds seem stacked against us—especially then—our voices matter.
